The Glass Menagerie

Auditions will be held from 6:30pm – 9:00pm on November 6 and 7, 2017.

Callbacks, if needed, will be on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm.
Auditions and callbacks will be held at the Sermon Center, 201 N. Dodgion Street, Independence, MO 64050.

Actors are requested to bring a picture (a headshot or a casual picture) and a resume. A CTI audition form will also need to be filled out. Bring all conflicts from November 9, 2017 to January 21, 2018.

AMANDA WINGFIELD: a faded Southern Belle. 50’s. “A little woman of great but confused vitality.”
TOM WINGFIELD: a poet/Merchant Marine. Early to mid 30’s.
LAURA WINGFIELD: mid 20’s. Delicate but not weak, shy.
JIM O’CONNOR: mid 20’s. Full of charm and confidence.

SYNOPSIS

Amanda Wingfield, a faded Southern belle of middle age, shares a dingy apartment with her son Tom and his slightly older sister, Laura. Amanda worries, especially about the future of her daughter Laura, a young woman with a limp. She has created a world of her own symbolized by her collection of glass figurines. Tom works in a shoe warehouse doing his best to support the family. Tom feels both obligated toward yet burdened by his family and longs to escape.
